An Introduction for the Vancouver Chaine

As part of our interest in enhancing the knowledge and enjoyment of fine wines and spirits among Chaine members, we are excited to announce the introduction of the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) program.

WSET offers comprehensive courses that cater to all levels of expertise, from beginners to seasoned connoisseurs to professionals. WSET is the world’s leading provider of wine and spirit education, offering a structured learning pathway that is both accessible and thorough. The program is designed to build a solid foundation of knowledge and practical skills, making it an ideal choice for our members who are passionate about deepening their understanding of wines.

Our Program Plan

This Fall, we are planning to launch the WSET Level 1 Award in Wines. This introductory course is a perfect starting point and will provide essential knowledge about the main types and styles of wine, basic wine tasting techniques, and guidance on food and wine pairings.

In 2025, we plan to advance to the WSET Level 2 Award in Wines. This will offer a more detailed exploration of wine regions, grape varieties, and production methods. This intermediate course is ideal for those who have completed Level 1 or have a foundational understanding of wine and are eager to expand their expertise further.

Tasting Opportunities!

In addition to the structured curriculum, these programs will include exclusive tasting opportunities tailored for our Chaine members. These tastings will not only enhance the learning experience but also provide a chance to savor a diverse selection of wines in a convivial setting.
