Welcome, Chaîne members and friends, to the first event of our fall season. It is with great pleasure that I invite you to join with me, Maitre Hotelier Joann Pfeiffer and Executive Chef Frank Gort for our season-opening dinner at the newly renovated Vancouver Marriott Pinnacle Downtown Hotel.

Executive Chef Frank Gort, who moved to the Pinnacle in 2010 from the Marriott in San Francisco, has planned an extraordinary repast for our enjoyment – one that will include a unique twist.

An award-winning chef with world-class credentials, Chef Gort is also the mentor of Wesley Feist, winner of this year’s Jeunes Chefs competition for the Vancouver Bailliage and our representative to the national competition to be held in Winnipeg in October. In fact, Chef Gort has generously included part of Wesley’s winning entry in the menu. Do join us for this sumptuous fall celebration of food and wine, featuring the creations of two extraordinary culinary talents.

Executive Chef: Frank Gort

Chef Frank Gort joined the Vancouver Pinnacle Marriott in 2010 moving from the JW Marriott Union Square, San Francisco where he helped develop the benchmark for events in the brand. He began his culinary training at the Secchia Institute for Culinary Education and joined the 1913 Room culinary team, the first AAA Five Diamond restaurant in Michigan. Frank was part of the opening team for the JW Marriott Grand Rapids, the first JW in the Midwest.
