On April 21st, Chaîne members and friends all over the world will come together in their home Baillages to celebrate “the fellowship of la Chaîne”. This year, for the first time, our Vancouver Bailliage will join in the world-wide festivities.
To celebrate World Chaîne, Vancouver Vice-Echanson Clement Lau, head of our Ordre Mondial, together with Maître de Table Thomas Houston of the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, have put together a fun, informal and informative wine-tasting event (with food pairings) that’s sure to excite.
Our Theme: France vs. The Okanagan Yes, join us as we experience side-by-side taste comparisons of fine French wines and comparable wines from the sunny Okanagan under the guideance of the director of Appellation Wines Mr. Bill Sandford.
Our France vs. the Okanagan taste-off begins with a sparkling reception with canapés, followed by an exploration of wines in each of three categories :
French Rosé vs. Okanagan Rosé
French Red vs. Okanagan Red
Each wine will be experienced in a different one of the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver’s newly renovated rooms, with each course accompanied by a culinary creation custom crafted by the Fairmont’s fabulously talented restaurant chef Will Lew.
