Dear Ordre Mondial and Chaîne Members,
Please join us on Saturday, May 6, as we celebrate Asian Heritage Month with a “Taste of Japan.”
During this very special event, Chaîne/OM member and sake afficionado Peter Green, a longtime fan and certified sake professional, will guide us through a tour of Japan’s most traditional of drinks, Nihonshu (Japanese alcohol).
We’ll enjoy a relaxed series of pours, with discussion regarding the history of brewing with rice in Japan; the methods of making sake; the terroir; the business; and sake around the world. Our goal is to become more comfortable with ordering nihonshu from a menu, reading a sake bottle, and pairing it with food.
Rounding out the event will be some classic Japanese small bites to accompany the sake. I very much look forward to welcoming you to what I know will be a very enjoyable afternoon.
