Chaîne Summer Event
August 16, 2020 @ 12:00 pm

Free – $125.00
It is with the great pleasure that your Vancouver Chaîne Council and I invite you to join us for a relaxed Chaîne luncheon “al fresco” at the venerable Royal Vancouver Yacht Club under the direction of our host and newest Chaîne professional member RVYC general manager Jeff Merrin.
Please join us on the lovely open-air upper deck at the RVYC – with its spectacular views of Burrard Inlet – for canapés and a sumptuous four-course summer luncheon with wine pairings created expressly for our enjoyment by the Club’s expert culinary team.
Our Council put considerable thought into the decision to hold a live Chaîne event this summer, and your health and safety are our top priorities. Please see the following outline of the special protocols and precautions you can expect at this event.
It has been some time since we have had the pleasure of enjoying each other’s company. Even with social distancing and all the other necessary measures, we look forward to enjoying a great meal while reconnecting with our fellow Chaîne members. I hope you can join us and look forward to seeing you there.

Safety Protocols for Chaîne Summer Luncheon
- Sorry…no handshakes or hugs!
- There will be no stand-up reception. Upon arrival, members will be asked to take a seat at their appointed table. Note: While canapés may be dispensed by a chef at a serving station, members are asked to take their plate of nibbles back to the their table to be enjoyed.
- The RVYC strictly follows and adheres to all the current health and safety protocols as prescribed by Federal and Provincial health authorities.
- All staff will wear masks and there will be generous spacing between tables for staff to move about. Please note that staffing levels will be slightly reduced to minimize interaction.
- The RVYC’s large outdoor (and indoor spaces) allow for ample social distancing.
- Our planned outdoor venue provides the additional safety and benefit of open-air circulation.
- In the event of inclement weather, equally large and well-ventilated space will be provided next to the upper deck.
- Tables will be spaced and set within provincial standards for spacing and maximum numbers.
- Requests for seating with individuals you may have in your personal bubble will be accommodated.
- Hand-sanitizer will be provided at each table.
- Bring your personal mask for your comfort. Masks will be available for anyone who wishes to wear one.
- We ask that you only register for this event if you have not had contact with anyone with Covid-19, have not travelled outside Canada in the last 14 days and have not had any symptoms of concern.
- If you find yourself feeling unwell at any point after registering, you will be able to cancel without penalty.
Note: It is important to understand that while every effort will be made to ensure our collective health and safety, there is an element of risk to attending any larger gathering of people. We will do everything in our power to minimize the risk.
This event is strictly limited to a maximum 30 Chaîne members and escorts.
